This report covers the period from January to December 2014. In this period, our ART enrolment rate was 184% over the target. Under the elimination of mother to child transmission (eMTCT) programme, we provided ARV prophylaxis to 3,062 HIV positive women. Furthermore, under the CART project we exceeded our VMMC target of 4,500 by 103%, the HIVTesting and Counseling (HTC) target of 33,000 by 105%. enrolment on ARTand PMTCT were 70% and 90% respectively. In addition, CHAZ had 63,911 on ART cumulatively by December 2014, thus reducing the AIDS case fatality rate by 77.3%. There was an achievement of 96% against a target of 24,049 in TB screening.Our Monitoring and Evaluation system was strengthened further through the installation of the new DHIS - 2 software, a website based tool designed to capture data electronically. As a result of this, we achieved 100% in our data collection and compilation.
This report covers the period from January to December 2013. During the year, CHAZ hosted high profile events - the Africa Christian Health Association Platform in February, the CHAZ General Council and the official opening of the Pharmaceutical Warehouse in June. CHAZ embarked on a new project, The Health Systems Strengthening Initiative (HSSI). The programme supported by the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and three other partners from the USA, St. Louis University (SLU), University of Notre Dame (UND) and Ascension Health. A total of 21,590 clients in cumulative care were reached under the PEPFAR supported ART programme and 9,349 were active on ART. In addition, 7,398 pregnant women were counseled and tested HIV during the year under review. In the same year, CHAZ admitted new members during the 42nd General Council bringing the general membership to 151. The year 2013 saw CHAZ receive the Award for laboratory support in Zambia presented by the Biomedical Society of Zambia.
This report covers the period from January to December 2012. This was a very important year for CHAZ as it was the second year of implementation of our 2011-015 Strategic Plan. The report further gives an update on how CHAZ provided ART medication to 73,573 clients and also provided PMTCT services to 8,547 HIV positive people and counseling and testing services to 67,294 clients. CHAZ further distributed 266,900 insecticide treated nets (ITNs) for the control of malaria to eight DHMTs and CHI's and distributed ARV's and other health products.
This report covers the period from January to December 2011. In this period, a new government was voted into office and pledged to continue supporting the work of the church in health sector. On May 4th of the same year, the long awaited signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Health (MOH) was signed. The signing of the meMOU signified CHAZ's renewal of its formal relationship with the Ministry as opposed to the last five yearss when the cooperation was based on an outdated (MOU). The year 2011 also marked the implementation of the 2011 to 2015 CHAZ strategic plan which was unveiled at the Churches Health Association's General Council meeting.
The year 2010 marked the end of an era for CHAZ in that it was the final year of implementation for the Association’s 2006-2010 Strategic Plan and HIV and AIDS Strategic Plan. The review of the Association’s Strategic plan was one of the most prominent undertakings for the Association in 2010.
